Charity Trail Running Race

Heritage Run is a race for running enthusiasts who, simply by taking part, can also contribute to efforts to preserve historic monuments.

With race distances ranging from 7 to 22 km, the event is open to trail runners of all levels. The route linking four fortified churches offers a varied course, with long stretches through the rolling, forested landscape of the Târnave region. Runners will follow country roads and narrow trails marked by Via Transilvanica, Colinele Transilvaniei and the Mediaș Bike Marathon, as well as pass through the grounds of the fortified churches themselves, starting with the UNESCO-listed fortified church of Biertan.

The registration fee includes a €5 donation per adult participant to the Fortified Churches Foundation, supporting its work to preserve and care for historic monuments. In 2026, the funds will help co-finance repairs to the southern section of the roof of the church in Copșa Mare.
