Jimbor Fortress

If the ruins you see today on Jimbor Hill could speak, they would surely tell the story of a beautiful Saxon fortress that once played an important role in the lives of the local community. It served as a refuge in times of hardship, but also as a place of celebration during festive days. Built of stone, the fortress covered a relatively small area, with an irregular pentagonal enclosure wall. It included a bastion, a gatehouse, and a quadrilateral tower that housed the bell used to warn villagers in times of danger.  👉 See details here
