The Historia Renascita Association, with funding from the Argeș County Council and in partnership with the Argeș County Museum, is organizing, between September 13 – 14 this year, the 5th edition of the ancient reenactment festival "Transalutanus Fest. At the Gates of the Empire."

The event, already a tradition, will take place inside the Roman fort of Jidova, a place steeped in history, the most important defensive point on the Transalutan Limes.

The former Roman fort needs promotion also through high-quality historical reenactment, which involves interactive and demonstrative presentations of revealing aspects of civilian and military life from the period of Roman Dacia.

For two days, the times when barbarian revolts shook the frontiers of the Roman province north of the Danube will be brought back to life within the walls of the former fort.

Saturday, September 13, 2025, Roman Fort Jidova
12:00 – Opening of the ancient camps (Dacian and Roman)
12:30 – Official opening of the festival; troops’ salute; speeches by officials
13:00/14:00 – Equipment presentations/military tactics demonstrations; ancient dance; Gladiator fights (Ludus Dacicus)
14:00/18:00 – Ancient workshops (ancient gastronomy, archery, blacksmithing, weaving, pottery, chainmail, leatherwork, numismatics)
18:30 – The great confrontation between the Roman army and the confederation of barbarian tribes
20:30 – The sacred pyre. Ancient ritual.

Sunday, September 14, 2025, Roman Fort Jidova
11:30 – Opening of the ancient camps (Dacian and Roman)
11:30 – 15:00 – Ancient workshops (ancient gastronomy, archery, blacksmithing, weaving, pottery, chainmail, leatherwork, numismatics)
