Come to Argeș for the Romanian Traditional Costume Parade!

In Argeș County, Romania’s National Day of Traditional Costume will be celebrated on Sunday, May 10, 2026, in Mioveni, through a double event: the Romanian Traditional Costume Parade and the “Gheorghe Popescu-Județ” County Folk Dance Competition.

Starting at 4:00 PM, the public is invited to Dacia Boulevard (Block H area) – Civic Center, Mioveni Cultural House, to take part in the Romanian Traditional Costume Parade, held in a festive atmosphere and dedicated to authentic values, traditions, and the beauty of the Romanian traditional costume.

After the parade, beginning at 5:00 PM, the 20th edition of the “Gheorghe Popescu-Județ” County Folk Dance Competition will take place in Mioveni Civic Center, a landmark event celebrating the value and authenticity of Argeș folk traditions. Folk ensembles and dance groups from across Argeș County have entered the competition and will offer the audience a true artistic showcase featuring folk music, spectacular choreography, and the wonderful traditional costumes of Argeș.

The event is organized by the “Doina Argeșului” Center, a cultural institution under the Argeș County Council, in partnership with the Mioveni City Hall, Mioveni Local Council, and Mioveni Cultural Center.
